Grade Calculator FAQ

How is the weighted final grade calculated?
Each assignment's score is multiplied by its weight, the products are summed, then divided by the total weight to give the overall weighted percentage.
Do the weights need to add up to 100?
No. The calculator normalizes by total weight, so weights can be any relative numbers (e.g. 30, 20, 50 or 3, 2, 5) as long as they reflect each item's importance.
How is the letter grade determined?
Standard thresholds: A (90+), B (80–89), C (70–79), D (60–69), F (below 60). Adjust to match your institution's scale.
